Summer is Here

NEW, ALERT TAMPA PROGRAM

Hurricane seasons starts June 1st and we want you to be prepared and in the know.   Just released, "The City of Tampa can now send urgent text messages and email alerts to residents and businesses. Emergency personnel will use Alert Tampa to notify citizens of mandatory evacuations, boil water orders, searches for missing persons and other critical incidents. Subscribers can also choose to receive informational alerts that affect their neighborhoods, such as, emerging crime trends, information on sexual predators in the area, street closures for planned events and garbage day pick up changes. Alert Tampa subscribers can access the system’s web site to update their information or cancel at anytime.  The new system will replace Reverse 911, which only uses voicemail to contact citizens.

Registering for the Alert Tampa is free and citizens who live or work in the city are encouraged to sign up at
www.tampagov.net/alerttampa.

Get to know your candidates, don’t vote for just a name you’ve heard of. Vote for what the person stands for. We’ll all be better off.
